Hello, we thought it would be beneficial to post some questions that we get, and questions that we feel are important to be answered. If you have any questions, please head over to our contact page and ask away. This is not a complete list, and should not be the only questions you ask, but it's a very great starting point and something that will hopefully spark more questions.

Q: How many weddings do you do per year? How much experience do you have?

This question is very important. Ideally, your wedding videographer will have ample experience under their belt before shooting your wedding. Not only will someone with more experience be more skilled in their craft, but they will also be a valuable source of information for things outside of their craft. You really want to hire someone with experience so that your day goes as smooth as possible, and you will be able to have a worry free day when it comes to videography.

A: Amber Exposure has been shooting weddings since 2014 and has been shooting various other projects since 2008. We are currently shooting around 30 weddings/yr. Amber Exposure was founded by Christian Rivera, the current owner with a degree in film production.

Q: How much do you cost?

Price is often relative to overall quality. Especially when you factor in experience, reputation, and skill. Generally speaking, the most talented videographers have a higher price tag because they are worth it. You aren't paying for someone to just video your day, what you are paying for is their knowledge, experience, skill, etc. 

A: Our current starting price is $1900, however, depending on what is wanted/needed, this price will fluctuate.

Q: How much is the deposit?

A deposit should always be included as part of your overall price. You shouldn't agree on a price, then pay an additional deposit/retainer. Be sure to make sure of this before putting any money down.

A: Our current deposit/retainer is $800, and this ensures that we will hold your wedding date. Our retainer DOES go toward your final balance, so that's a plus.

Q: What is included in your collections/packages?

Because collections often vary, it's likely that you won't be able to compare one videographer exactly to the next, at least not without doing a little math. The lowest cost isn't necessarily the best deal. As we mentioned earlier, you need to take their quality into account, as well as what is included. While one company may have a higher price tag, they may also include more in their collections that you would have to pay extra for in other packages. 

A: Amber Exposure has three main collections, however, we have a full page of extras that can be added onto any collection to create a truly unique collection. In our basic package, we offer three edits: Highlight film, full ceremony, and full toasts. That's roughly 45-60 min worth of content to watch. 

Q: What happens if I cancel? What happens if you cancel?

Find out if your deposit is refundable under any conditions. Also, does the videographer have a backup plan if something happens to them?

A: Our contract states that our retainer is non-refundable if you cancel. However, if you change the date and we aren't already booked, then it will be applied to the new date. As for a backup plan, we have three lead shooters and another 3 backup shooters. Along with this, we have a pool of videographers from other companies as a last resort. However, we have never even gotten past our first level.

Q: Do you use a contract?

If this answer is no, RUN! A contract is designed to protect both parties involved, and can be a life saver if you actually need to enforce any aspects of it. Don't settle for a verbal agreement, as that will not hold up in court. This should be a deal breaker if your videographer doesn't use a contract.

A: YES! We have a contract that covers just about anything you can think of. This not only protects us, but also protects you in the event of something not going as planned.

Q: Are there any additional fees?

Taxes, service charges, travel fees, rental fees, etc. can all add up very quickly. Make sure you understand what is included and if there are any other fees involved.

A: We do have a travel fee, that is used for any events outside of 100 miles, and we also have an international fee. As far as fees, that is our only fee, however, we do also charge tax.

Q: Do you have liability insurance?

This answer should always be a yes! This, like a contract, is another thing that needs to be in place. This protects you in case any unfortunate accident should occur on your wedding day. Along with this, it is a sign that the business you are dealing with is a somewhat reputable business. Most "Fly by Night" companies don't invest in insurance, but either way, if they don't have it then you shouldn't book.

A: YES! This is a must for us, and we haven't had to use it yet, but we have it just in case.
